Meet the Team
Utah Dragonflies Softball was born out of a love for the game and a deep commitment to supporting young athletes, both on and off the field. Founded in Ogden, Utah, our 16u girls softball team aims to not only develop exceptional sports skills but also to raise awareness around mental health issues. Our coaching staff brings years of experience and a passion for nurturing talent in a supportive environment. We believe in the power of sport to foster confidence, teamwork, and resilience. Our administrative team ensures that every aspect of our program runs smoothly, allowing our coaches and players to focus on what they do best. At Utah Dragonflies Softball, we're more than just a team; we're a family dedicated to making a meaningful impact in our community.
Meet our coaches
CJ Killpack- Head coach
Our founding coach's journey into coaching began with a simple yet powerful observation: watching his oldest daughter learn and grow through softball. Witnessing her development—both as an athlete and as a young person—inspired him to dedicate himself to developing other young athletes. He saw the positive impact the sport had on her confidence, teamwork skills, and overall well-being, and he wanted to provide that same opportunity for other girls. A proud father of three daughters, he brings a unique level of dedication and understanding to his coaching. He's not just teaching softball skills; he's instilling valuable life lessons about discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship. He truly lives and breathes softball, and his commitment to his players extends far beyond the field.
Nate Perry- Assistant coach
Nate has been a dedicated softball coach for over five years, finding his passion while coaching his daughters' teams. He's driven by a love for seeing his players progress, develop their skills, and achieve their goals. Nate has earned a respected reputation within the softball community for his positive coaching style and commitment to player development. He's excited to continue sharing his expertise and help young athletes expand their skills and knowledge of the game
Arianna Gutierrez- Assistant coach
Having spent 12 years immersed in the world of softball as a player, our third coach is now channeling her passion into developing the next generation of athletes. After a successful year coaching little league, she's excited to take on the challenge of coaching an older team. This transition from player to coach gives her a unique perspective, allowing her to connect with the girls on a deeper level and provide valuable insights based on her own experiences. She's eager to share her expertise and guide these young women on their journey to becoming the players they've always dreamed of being.
